Excellent cafe with high quality well crafted coffee, plenty of sweet and savoury home baked treats, sandwiches etc, which also has the benefit of being dog friendly. It is warm and inviting and clean, with internal and external seating areas and services always come with a smile. The only draw back is the limited parking and popularity of the cafe which at times can create a bit of a backlog and a slight delay in service but it feels unfair to penalise The Workhouse for this.

Had a magnificent Senorita sour dough bread toastie with a decaf cappuccino and a wine bottle of free water. Fantastic. This is the Michelin 3 star coffee bar. The Ritz of Workhouses. And Fran was super friendly with such a lovely laugh and made a happier day even happier. Thank you

We discovered The Workhouse about 12 months ago when searching for dog friendly places to have a bite in and around Northampton (properly dog friendly - somewhere that doesn’t chuck you in a different area or allow them on the furniture) and this place is a gem. It’s always packed which is testament to the amazing food, staff and atmosphere. The staff are always accommodating, happy and friendly which massively contributes to the lovely atmosphere’s here. You can tell they are an excellent team and work well together. The food is insanely good, it’s on another level! Their menu is small but they do everything to perfection. The cake counter is always full of amazing treats making it hard to choose what to take home. This place deserves more than 5 stars! Tip: Get there for opening time!

Absolutely fantastic. Great food and drinks. I had the marmite and cheese sour bread toast which was so nice. My sister had the chicken and avocado sandwich and that was tasty too. Can also recommend the smoothies and ice tea. We bought some cakes to take away too. They were delicious. Very rich and indulgent. We will definitely be going again.
